The Angel of Death (Audible Audio Edition) Elicia Hyder Brittany Pressley Audible Studios Books

After stopping a serial killer and shutting down an interstate human trafficking ring, Sloan Jordan is ready for a break. But back at home in Asheville, her problems have only just begun.
The supernatural world has taken an interest in her, and strange things are happening. Her powers are multiplying, she's plagued by vivid nightmares, and a deranged young woman, babbling an unknown language, has been detained by police. The only clue to her identity - Sloan's name carved into her arm.
If that wasn't enough, the FBI has launched a full-scale investigation into her private life, believing Sloan might not be as innocent as she claims.
With her boyfriend, Warren Parish, deployed with the Marine Corps, Sloan is left in the protection of Detective Nathan McNamara. And their complicated friendship is about to be tested. Sloan has a secret...one that could turn even Nathan against her forever.
The Angel of Death (Audible Audio Edition) Elicia Hyder Brittany Pressley Audible Studios Books
When Sloan Jordan thought "summoning" souls was just a quirky gift she had, she never thought it was anything more than a supernatural fluke in her genetic makeup. Now her ability is her worse nightmare when it lands her in jail with murder allegations on her rap. Not only is North Carolina against her, the supernatural world wants her gone too. Warren Parish isn't around to protect her, Nathan McNamara's got his own career to worry about, and the new guy, who looks scarily akin to her boyfriend, might just be a double agent for the antagonists! With plenty of new players joining Sloan's life, she'll have to figure out whom she can trust before it's too late.I don't normally read love triangle stories since someone always ends up hurt in the end. However, Elicia Hyder has the talent to sustain a good mix of love/lust between the characters so that they were not soap drama cheesy, which I appreciate. As you'll read in her other books, eL manages to cover this area with extreme brilliance. (The Bed She Made, another one of her novels, happens to be my favorite love triangle--or square, lol--story yet!) Having never experienced love may be a reason why The Angel of Death was an extra juicy mix to this paranormal story. Lastly, this ended with a cliffhanger, so beware!

The Angel of Death (Audible Audio Edition) Elicia Hyder Brittany Pressley Audible Studios Books Reviews
The Angel of Death is the last book I have in the soul summoner series. I felt so personally connected with this series. I laughed out loud at some of their antics. I felt rising anxiety and fear as the good and the bad angels battled. I actually had tears falling from my eyes when one of the main love interests died. More tears fell as the heroin watched her lover die in her arms. I am used to having these emotions when I watch a movie, but never never while reading a book. It was so well written, that I felt I was actually there watching as events took place, from watching teasing arm punches to the looks of love passing between the characters. These subtleties of life's interactions are often skipped over in stories, but Elicia Hyder uses them to bring her characters to live in my dimension. Please write more Soul Summoner series. I'm not ready to stop reading about them yet. Ms Hyder, you definitely have a wonderful gift.
OMG, these books just keep getting better and better! TONS of action in this book, with lots of plot twists and turns. I simply love these characters and how they interact with one another. The last scenes at the end of the book were pretty intense and gut wrenching (no spoilers!). Suffice it to say, I'm now a HUGE fan of Elicia Hyder's work and hope the next book in this series will be available sooner than later. If you like great writing, characters you can love (or hate), witty dialogue, aspects of the supernatural, lots of action and some romance to boot, do yourself a favor and get this series. You will NOT be disappointed!
After falling in love with the story line and main characters in the first two books, I could hardly wait to read book three in the series. It's as good as the other two are. The characters progress with their relationships and along the way battle evil, trade a few good natured insults, and grow. Some of the insults between the two main male characters made me laugh until I nearly cried because they reminded me of a couple of incidents when I was in college. Like a short, brief trip back in time. These books keep me turning pages and not wanting to stop reading until I get to the end of the story. I am really looking forward to the fourth installment in this series.
Book 3 1/2 in The Soul Summoner series, and while still a good read, this time I need to take it down a star. The pace is still fast and the storyline cohesive, but-
There should be more depth of character now. Sloan has been plunged into the supernatural world, been on the receiving end of violence, has suffered personal tragedy, owns her own house and holds a pretty decent job, not to mention holding the hearts of 2 hot men and being preggers........yet she still whines and pouts and can out drama a teenager. This is a dichotomy that I don't find engaging. Things seem too superficial and sanitized as a whole.
With that said, I want to read the next book right now. As predicted, EH and the world she is bringing us have been morphing for the better. Each book is a stand alone with a great end zing that punches us into the next one.
I am trusting though, that EH layers the fourth with more of the nuances that she gave us in the jail scene and makes us feel the dark just a tad bit more. Enjoy!
I don't totally hate or like this book main reason is I really hate love triangles and I really hate Sloan, I love warren and really wish he would tell Sloan either she gets over Nathan or it is over in book one not wait until book 3 I can't stand how Sloan is always making out with Nathan or googly eyes at him while warren is helping with shit and idiot Nathan already has a gf just the whole series bugged me because of the love triangle the story line plot is very good though
